Communio is an initiative of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) since 2018, to assist, support, and sustain all our Dioceses and Religious Congregations working in rural and mission areas in their pastoral ministry.
The Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI), established in 1988, after the launch of the National Pastoral Plan in 2013, conceived the idea at different stages, and Communio saw its light in 2016, at the XXIX Plenary Assembly held in Bhopal. The celebration of the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy (8 Dec 2015 to 20 Nov 2016) announced by our Holy Father Pope Francis.

“In virtue of their baptism, all the members of the People of God have become missionary disciples (cf. Mt 28:19). The new evangelization calls for personal involvement on the part of each of the baptized” (cf. Evangelii Gaudium, 120). To support youth programmes to help our youth mature in faith and to become missionary disciples.
To assist all programmes which empower Catholic women to become agents of transformation in family, Church, and society.
To initiate the programmes which welcome, protect, promote, and integrate migrants into Church, and society.
To encourage parishes and dioceses to take care of our common home.
To support projects that promote the holistic health care of the individual.
To support projects which express solidarity with the poor and the deprived.
To support programmes which help the students to become wholesome individuals and responsible citizens.
