Bengaluru, CCBI Secretariat, 25 August 2025 – On the eve of the 115th birth anniversary of St. Mother Teresa, the patron saint of Communio, a special celebration was held with missionary fervor and prayerful reflection.
Sr. Margarita Dias SCB, Associate Director for Communio, visited the Missionaries of Charity community to join the Sisters in prayer and the Holy Eucharist offered for the intentions of the CCBI, Communio volunteers, benefactors, and all well-wishers. The celebration served both as a tribute to Mother Teresa’s life and as a renewed call to mission and communion in the Church in India.
Emphasizing that Mother Teresa’s missionary zeal continues to animate the vision of Communio, Sr. Margarita highlighted the saint’s example of standing with the poor, strengthening bonds of communion, and living the Gospel through concrete acts of service.
The MC Sisters expressed their closeness by assuring their prayers for the mission of Communio and presented Sr. Margarita with a blessed image of St. Mother Teresa, originally distributed during her canonization.
This gift, rich in spiritual meaning, symbolizes the saint’s ongoing intercession for Communio’s mission.
Reflecting on Mother Teresa’s words, “Prayer makes your heart bigger, until it is capable of containing the gift of God Himself,” Sr. Margarita reminded that every mission begins in prayer, is strengthened in solidarity, and bears fruit in service.
To mark this milestone, the Communio family has planned ten days of missionary initiatives including prayer gatherings, charitable works, and awareness programs, guided by the saint’s timeless reminder: “Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.”
As the Church remembers 115 years of St. Mother Teresa, Communio pledges to continue her legacy of mercy, kindness, and missionary communion, walking with zeal in her footsteps for the service of the Gospel.
